There are several top motorbike brands in the world. These manufacturing giants have been doing their thing for decades and they focus on innovation, features, design, fuel efficiency, etc. Most riders have their personal preferences when selecting motorcycles and you will come across experienced riders who are loyal to one brand. These motorcycle brands come from different parts of the world and Japan has the most renowned Big Four, which include Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki. Honda
Honda is the biggest and the most popular motorbike brand from Japan. Honda is not only a giant in motorbike manufacturing; the company manufactures the most amount of internal combustion engines in the global market too. Honda manufactured their first motorbike model in 1949 and then it grew to become the biggest manufacturer in the world by 1964. Yamaha
Yamaha was one of the pioneering motorcycle brands in Japan. The company built its first motorcycle in 1954 and the company’s first-ever model Yamaha YA-1 was birthed in 1955. They entered the JDM in 1958 and became an international brand in 1960 when they began exporting to the US. Yamaha mostly manufactures on and off-road bikes as well as models for off-road adventures. Over the years Yamaha has diversified their production into watercraft, snowmobiles, and high-power ATVs. Yamaha motorbikes are known for their reasonable pricing.
Suzuki
Suzuki began their operations of manufacturing motorcycles in the mid 1950s. This is a brand that has a rich racing heritage and it continues to date. Suzuki is known for manufacturing one of the fastest bikes on the market. The company created the first-ever liquid-cooled motorcycle engine in the ’70s. They still stick to their speed and style theory when manufacturing bikes. Suzuki motorbikes have a unique design and energy!
Kawasaki
Kawasaki is a company that was founded in the 1800s. But it was only in the late 1940’2 that they entered the market to built motorcycles. Kawasaki bikes were an instant hit so they opened operations in the US to continue their production. When they began producing the market demand was for fast high-performance bikes so they built the Kawasaki Avenger and Samurai. Kawasaki is known for its high-performance and fun motorcycles. Even though the other three from the Big Four diversified to build scooters, Kawasaki decided to stick to their signature style of high performance.
